Project Title: CRANE
MirsonDesign is pleased to present the structural design and engineering for the CRANE project. This industrial facility has been specifically engineered to support heavy-duty lifting operations within a compact footprint. The structure is designed to house and operate a 5-ton overhead traveling crane, ensuring efficient material handling capabilities for the client's operational requirements.
The primary structural system utilizes hot-rolled steel sections, selected for their robustness and durability in an industrial environment.
Building Dimensions:
Length: 12.0 meters
Width: 11.0 meters
Eave Height: 6.0 meters
Foundation: Engineered reinforced concrete pad foundations designed to withstand vertical loads and dynamic crane forces.
Columns: The main vertical load-bearing members consist of HEB 140 wide-flange beams, providing exceptional rigidity and resistance to axial loads and bending moments.
Roof & Crane Beams: The roof structure and the critical crane runway beams are constructed using a combination of IPE 200 and IPN 300 profiles. The crane runway beams have been sized and reinforced to safely support the continuous moving load and impact forces of the 5-ton crane system.
The entire structure has been modeled and analyzed using advanced structural software to ensure compliance with international design codes (e.g., AISC or BS) for industrial buildings. The design accounts for dead loads, live loads, wind loads, and specifically, the operational loads (trolley hoist weight, lifted load, and dynamic factors) imposed by the 5-ton crane.
Key Features:
Optimized column spacing for maximum floor utilization.
Integrated crane runway beam system with precise alignment tolerances.
Robust bolted and welded connections designed for structural integrity under load.
